Michelle Ranville
Michelle Ranville is a senior economist in the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of the Chief Economist. She works in the Office of Pest Management Policy, a policy analysis office that was established to provide the farmer perspective in agricultural pesticide and pest management policy. With a background in pesticide regulation at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, her current role involves estimating and communicating the impact of pesticide policy changes on farmers and U.S. agriculture with special focus on endangered species policies, technology adoption, and conservation practice adoption. Since coming to USDA, Michelle has worked on examining barriers to farmer adoption of these tools and has collaborated with stakeholders to promote the incorporation of precision application technologies into pesticide labeling and mitigation.
