Dr. Heping Zhu is an Agricultural Engineer and Lead Scientist with USDA/ARS Application Technology Research Unit in Wooster, Ohio, USA. He is also an Adjunct Professor at The Ohio State University. He has more than 35 years of academic research and industrial experience in developing innovative methodologies and mechanisms to advance precision pesticide delivery systems for protection of crops and the environment. Many of his research findings have been used to efficiently apply traditional and biological pesticides, teach classes, assess chemical contamination, design sprayers and nozzles, and improve chemical formulations, resulting in significant cost savings for horticultural and traditional crop production. He received 2022 USDA-ARS Senior Scientist Year Award and is an ASABE Fellow and the ASABE McCormick - Case Gold Medal recipient to honor his “exceptional and meritorious engineering achievement in agriculture that has advanced the development of agriculture”.
