Tony works as a Senior Operational Policy Officer in the Chemical Regulations Division of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) of the United Kingdom. His particular responsibility revolves around improving HSE’s understanding of new technologies in the application of pesticides to protect crops and identifying policy actions on how to accommodate these technologies whilst maintaining the integrity of the pesticide regulations in the United Kingdom. Technologies that are of particular interest are precision application systems, unmanned aerial spraying systems (UASS) or drones, digital labels for crop protection products and the use of artificial intelligence in assessing risk. Tony is a member of the OECD’s Drone Subgroup of the Working Party on Pesticides and Chair’s its Advisory Group. He is also an active participant in the OECD’s Community of Practice on Digital Labels.
